Faculty Hierarchy
Oakridge College uses a structured faculty hierarchy to organize academic authority, teaching responsibility, promotion, mentorship, and departmental leadership.
Faculty ranks help define a character’s role within the college. Some positions are senior academic appointments with long-term authority, while others are teaching-focused, temporary, student-based, or tied to specific courses and department needs. These ranks also clarify who may teach, advise, mentor, review faculty, support students, or participate in department leadership.
The hierarchy does not replace the authority of Department Chairs, Deans, the Vice President, or the President. Instead, it shows how faculty standing works within Oakridge’s wider academic structure.
