The Oakridge Disciplinary Committee is the college's conduct board — the body that hears cases of academic misconduct and violations of campus rules. It exists so that discipline at Oakridge is a process, not a professor's mood.
Jurisdiction
The Committee hears matters referred by faculty, staff, or the administration, including:
- Academic misconduct — plagiarism, cheating, falsified work.
- Conduct violations — campus-rule breaches, housing violations, behavior unbecoming of the college.
- Appeals — a student may ask the Committee to review a sanction imposed below it.
How it works
The Committee is convened under the Vice President of Oakridge College, chaired by a senior member of the faculty, and seats both faculty and a student representative nominated through the Oakridge Student Council. A hearing is small and direct: the referral is read, the student answers, and the Committee deliberates.
Outcomes scale with the matter — a written warning, academic probation, loss of privileges, or, in serious cases, a recommendation of suspension or expulsion to the President of Oakridge College, who holds the final word.
The Committee in roleplay
A hearing is a scene: the long table, the nervous student, the character witness who may or may not help. Referral to the Committee is a consequence with story in it — not an ejection from play.
