Department of Earth & Ecological Sciences
The Department of Earth & Ecological Sciences is the founding discipline of Oakridge College — the direct heir of the 1918 Oakridge Institute of Forestry and Land Sciences, and home of the college's botanical flagship laboratory. Forestry, ecology, restoration, and land stewardship are not electives here; they are the reason the college exists.
The department teaches with its boots on: field surveys, restoration plots, and the working forest around Briarmont are as much its classrooms as the labs. Knowledge, with pine in the air.
