302 - Metagaming, Powergaming, and Godmodding

302.1 METAGAMING

Metagaming is prohibited. Examples include:

  • Knowing injuries before examining a patient.
  • Reading profile information and using it in roleplay.
  • Using OOC chat to influence an IC situation.
  • Acting on information your character has not learned.

302.2 POWERGAMING

Powergaming reduces the enjoyment of roleplay and should be avoided. Examples include:

  • Declaring treatments automatically succeed.
  • Forcing another character to react.
  • Ignoring another player's responses.
  • Performing unrealistic medical miracles.

Instead, roleplay collaboratively.

Instead of:

"The surgery is successful, and you're completely healed."

Use:

"The surgery appears to have gone well. We'll continue monitoring your recovery over the coming hours."

302.3 GODMODDING

No player controls another player's character. Do not write actions such as:

  • "Sarah injects you before you can move."
  • "The patient immediately wakes up."
  • "The suspect calms down."

Always leave room for the other player to respond.
