308 - Scene Continuity and Pacing
308.1 SCENE CONTINUITY
Medical roleplay is often part of a larger story. Avoid ending scenes abruptly. Whenever possible:
- Arrange follow-up appointments.
- Admit patients for observation.
- Refer patients to specialists.
- Schedule rehabilitation.
- Encourage future roleplay opportunities.
Do not leave an open-ended scene that strands a patient without any interaction for days. This helps create ongoing storylines and richer experiences for everyone involved.
308.2 QUALITY OVER SPEED
Hartwell General Hospital values quality roleplay over fast roleplay. Staff are encouraged to:
- Write descriptive emotes.
- Develop patient interactions.
- Allow scenes to unfold naturally.
- Give everyone time to respond.
- Focus on storytelling rather than rushing to the outcome.
A well-paced medical scene is often more rewarding than one completed in a few minutes.
